Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program
The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program builds the knowledge and skills
required for each child to experience the joy in preparing, cooking and eating a variety of foods they have grown and harvested themselves.
We at Lowood State School are very proud of our Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program and no wonder. We are:
One of the first schools in Queensland to receive Federal Government funding for a kitchen garden.
The only school in the Somerset region working this program.
The only school in Queensland with our own purpose built kitchen—5 kitchens in one!
Developing life-enhancing skills that will help our students lead a happy, healthy life.
The only school in the world where children see chokos as a reward!
Every Student in Years 3-7 has a weekly garden lesson.
